A professional Rwandan artist Jean Bosco Rwiyamirira is working night  in and day out to change the drift of Rwanda’s entertainment industry.

Speaking to The New Times, Rwiyamirira explained his new plan to launch the Kigali Cultural Evenings in different jaunt places.

"It is so important that Cultural evenings begin here in Rwanda so as to teach the young generation Rwanda’s culture,” Rwiyamirira said.

Rwiyamirira, who is also the founder of DIVART Agency, said that different festivals would be hosted in Rwanda soon.

He added that remembering and giving value  to one’s culture is one of the basic channels to create professional artists.

"Many countries that have excelled in the entertainment industry first recognized the richness in their own culture; DR Congo is one of the developing countries that have huge income from the entertainment industry. The music sector ranks number one because of the priority it is given,” Rwiyamirira noted.

Rwiyamirira, who became a professional artist in the 80’s, added that professionalism in artists begins when there is management in production and promotion projects among artists.

The objective of these upcoming cultural events led by Rwiyamirira is to put together efforts of artists towards national development. This will be done through reinforcing and stimulating new styles.

In 1985, he recorded an album ‘Remember Africa’ one album that reminded Africans in the western world, of their roots.

In 1999, he formed his DIVART Agency in Canada after making successful music tours and concerts across Europe, with powerful artists from DRC Congo and Senegal that hosted various international cultural festivals in Canada.
