Willy Ndizeye is believed to have resigned today.

Gasabo Mayor Willy Ndizeye and his deputies vice mayor in charge of social affairs Marie Louise Uwimana and Jean Claude Munara, vice mayor in charge of finance and economic planning have tendered their resignations to the district advisory council. 

This is according to unconfirmed reports. 

According to a source who requested anonymity, the Gasabo Advisory Council is holding an emergency session to discuss their resignations and the way forward. 

First elected as mayor in February 2010 replacing Claudine Nyinawagaga who had resigned, Ndizeye was reelected 25 February 2011. 

He had previously served as Gasabo vice mayor in charge of finance and economic planning.
