The Rwanda National Police (RNP) has arrested two members of an organisation known by its French acronym LIPRODHOR over alleged forgery and use of counterfeit documents. The suspects were identified as Daniel Uwimana and Evariste Nsabayezu, the former vice president of the association.

The suspects were identified as Daniel Uwimana and Evariste Nsabayezu, the former vice president of the association.
They were arrested last Friday following a complaint filed by the legal representative of the association, and subsequent investigations, according to Police.
In a statement, Police Spokesperson Chief Supt. Celestin Twahirwa, said: "Together with other associates, they allegedly forged signatures of other members of LIPRODHOR in a bid to gather enough signatories to convene an extraordinary General Assembly, apparently meant to oust the association’s current management.”
"This is in contravention of articles 609 and 610 of the Penal Code,” he added.
The statement added that investigations are ongoing to apprehend all those connected to the alleged crime.
"People should use legal channels to address their grievances,” Twahirwa said.
