"We want him to win all trophies available in the country and also take the team as far as possible in the Confederations of African Football tournament,” Aime Niyonsabye, Rayon Sports Secretary General ,said.

The Congolese coach, who has been in charge of Rayon Sports’ arch rivals APR, has also been asked to strengthen the club’s youth development philosophy.

Mfutila, who immediately took charge of yesterday’s evening training session, asked the club to honor their financial obligations.

Rayon Sports have in the past struggled to pay players and coaching staff on time, sometimes taking 2 to 3 months. However the club looks to be stable financially after signing a 3 year deal worth $50,000 with local brewery, Skol.

Mfutila has a decorated C.V having guided different DR Congo clubs like TP Mazembe, Vital Club, St Loi Lupopo and Don Bosco to league triumphs. He has also coached the DRC national team.
