The Slideluck Kigali event attracted photographers and visual artists from different walks of life.

It was an enchanting Friday night as local and international artists and photographers converged at ‘the Office’ in Kiyovu to interact and share their work experiences.

The purpose of the event was to blend arts, photography and food, and each person was required to come with a prepared dish.

Guests share the food they brought.

The exhibition ended with pomp and style as over 18 local and international photographers showcased their photos and videos to an excited audience.

The visual artists who showcased their art pieces include Francois Mucyo, Anna Hornik, Crystalline Randazo, Lauren Everitt, Jaime Travezan, Emmanuel Nkuranga, Methusela Hakizimana and curators Andrew Esiebo from Nigeria as well as Andrew Mc Farland from New York.

According to Laura Elizabeth Pohl, one of the organisers, the event was geared towards bringing together visual artists to create an arts community. "This international event is held in several countries around the world like Morocco, Kenya and the head quarters are based in New York City,” she added.

Methusela Hakizimana, one of the participants who showcased a two minutes video about a young man haunted by a ghost, said the event helped to promote and expose his work and also motivate him to carry out other projects.
