Growing up in a religious family, he often wondered and asked his mother where Christians go to relax their minds and be free. Luckily, Joshua Tuyitakire found himself in the entertainment scene in high school where he was the minister of entertainment and culture and later became an entertainment journalist on TV 10.

From there what seemed to be a puzzle turned into an idea that brings together people from different lifestyles with a goal to bring them close to God and worship together regardless of their religious status.

The official launch of the new Gospel Club organised by Tuyitakire took place on October 5, at St Paul. Surrounded by friends and family, Joshua highlighted how excited he was to finally launch the club and often thanked everyone who made it.

Among different singers who attended the launch were Eric Mucyo, Bosc Nshuti, Jimmy Star and Chris Hart among others.

Tuyitaire explained to The New Times that he wanted to make something that connects church and entertainment.

" I wanted to create a gospel-based event that connects gospel and entertainment. I dream to see a gospel and secular artiste worshiping together regardless of the music they do,” he said.

Referencing the bible, he pointed " Everything was created by God, for God. Entertainment is for God. We gain from worship.”

For the upcoming editions which he plans to bring once a month, Joshua pointed out that the next editions will host only two artistes, a secular and gospel singer as well as a storyteller to share their journey and inspire others.
