Twenty-three-year-old Kevine Kagirimpundu is the founder of Uzuri K&Y Designs. The entrepreneur and artiste (painter), is also an art curator at Uburanga Art Studio. In an interview with Society Magazine’s Doreen Umutesi, Kagirimpundu says she is not the ultra- feminine type. Excerpts;

How would you describe your dress sense?

Oh God! I don’t know how to describe it. The most important thing to me is to feel good. Not only comfortable, but also happy with what I’m wearing. I’m not an ultra- feminine dresser, and I’m not the neatest dresser either. Blazers and dresses with sleeves make me feel way more comfortable.

What’s your favourite clothing item?

I love dresses.

Where do you shop for clothes?

I prefer buying clothes when I travel. I feel like those clothes give me a sense of a new experience since they are from another place.

What do you consider when shopping clothes?

I consider colour, comfort and the feeling a cloth gives me.

What is your favourite fashion accessory?

I love shoes.

What is your favourite clothing item on a guy?

A cool blazer matched with nice pair of jeans.

What’s your favourite scent?

I hope you do not mean lotion and perfume because I am not really into them. However, sometimes, I like men’s perfumes. They are strong but have a mild scent.

What is the most expensive fashion accessory you own and what led you into buying it?

Burberry shoes. I bought them because I had started my own business and wanted to feel confident. When you are young and you are supposed to meet with other women who have achieved success, you better have a sense of fashion.

Any fashion advice?

Women shouldn’t take fashion as a luxury to show off. It should be used to bring out their inner beauty and throw away the fear of expressing themselves.
