Rwandans in SA to relive culture at concert

The Rwandan community in South Africa will have a chance to relive their culture at the Ikirori Nyarwanda music concert on November 28 at Maitland Hall in Cape Town starting 6pm.

The Rwandan community in South Africa will have a chance to relive their culture at the Ikirori Nyarwanda music concert on November 28 at Maitland Hall in Cape Town starting 6pm.

According to the organisers, Emmeline Nizeyimana and Empress Claudine, the concert is a platform for Rwandans in South Africa to celebrate their culture and music.

"We aim to bring people together to celebrate our culture. Rwanda’s oldies and old school music, locally known as karahanyuze and other genres will be performed at the concert,” Nizeyimana said.

The Ikirori Nyarwanda concert will feature several musicians and Safari Fashions based in South Africa. Artistes expected to perform at the concert include Home Boys, Jay Maserati, Empress Claudine, Emmeline Nizeyimana and Izihirwe dance crew.
