The National U-23 volleyball team was no match for hosts Egypt, losing three sets to nil (25-16, 25-16 and 25-17) in the Africa U-23 Volleyball championship on Sunday.

This is the second defeat for Paul Bitok’s team. After starting well by defeating Libya 3-0, they then lost 3-0 to Tunisia.

This latest defeat means Rwanda’s chances of playing in next year FIVB Men’s U23 World Championships are all but over. The top two teams in the competition qualify for the global competition.

Tunisia and Egypt, which have won all three of their games, are favorites to qualify.

Rwanda takes on Algeria tomorrow afternoon with Libya playing Tunisia. Egypt plays Morocco.
