Kenya’s Foreign Affairs Minister Mudavadi arrives in Rwanda

The Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi on October 6, arrived in Rwanda on an official visit.

He was received by Gen (Rtd) James Kabarebe, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in charge of Regional Cooperation, at the Kigali International Airport.

According to his office, Mudavadi is expected to meet President Paul Kagame and deliver a special message from Kenyan President William Ruto, who visited Rwanda in April.

A tweet from Office of Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs also revealed that the discussions will primarily focus on strengthening cooperation within the member states of the East African Community, fostering unity, and promoting shared prosperity among the two nations.

"This visit highlights Kenya&039;s unwavering commitment to nurturing and reinforcing the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation that exist between Nairobi and Kigali.”

Mudavadi’s visit comes two days after his appointment in the Foreign Affairs and Diaspora docket by President Ruto in a Cabinet reshuffle announced on October 4.

Prior to that, Mudavadi also visited Burundi on October 2, for a diplomatic visit and later met Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on October 5.
