Our very own talent search competition dubbed Rwanda’s Got Talent, a competition where performers will compete for a top prize is set to kick off in Kigali.

The competition will feature singers, dancers and comedians competing for cash and other prizes.

"I used to organise such shows at my former school, (Sunrise High School) and I have always wanted young people to exhibit their talents. So I said why not start Rwanda’s Got Talent,” said Prince Hudson Manzi, the head of Elite Entertainment House—the organisers of the competition.

Auditions will be held on November 15 at Hilltop Hotel in Kigali, followed by two more rounds on November 22 and December 13, with the grand finale on December 20.

Eight dance crews and 20 solo performers have already registered and organisers are in talks with Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA), Lemigo TV and Tele 10 to air the auditions, elimination rounds and the grand finale.

The main aim of the competition is to give a platform to upcoming talented youth in the field of music, dance, drama and art.

There are awards for the top five winners who will be selected by a panel of judges.

Manzi said they want to start small for the first season before spreading out next year to the other provinces in the country.
