The ongoing 11th Rwanda International Trade Fair is gathering momentum with the number of show goers increasing gradually as the days go by.

Over the weekend, quite a large number of Rwandans as well as foreigners thronged Gikondo Expo ground to catch a glimpse of the products and services exhibited.

Not only did they do window shopping but were also seen to be buying some of the items. With many visiting, exhibitors say they have either networked for future business transactions or made immediate sales.

Phillip Cheruiyot, the Sales and Marketing Manager of Skenia Motors Ltd, said because the company is new in the Rwandan market, the expo has given it a great chance to exhibit Scania buses and trucks.

Keen Business Solutions, a Kenyan company is another exhibitor attracting many show goers. When The New Times visited expo ground, many people were buying kitchenware; fruits and vegetable slicers. The company’s stock was reducing significantly.

The marketing team of Star Africa Media, a new entrant in the pay television market said they were overwhelmed by the many customers inquiring about their product.

The company based in Rwanda wants to rollout affordable pay per view television in Rwanda, DR Congo, Burundi and Uganda.

Alice Mbabazi, the company sales executive said many people bought decoders and also were inquiring about its channels. 

Akagera Aviation, a company exhibiting helicopter services was another that attracted many visitors. After paying Frw15,000, show goers would be flown around Kigali City, for seven minutes.

This is the second year in a row Akagera Aviation is exhibiting. Last year, the aviation firm won the best exhibitor award.

Akagera is among the 307 exhibitors. At least 93 are international exhibitors.

South Africa and Ghana have participated for the first time in the expo slated to end on September 8.
