Rwanda Police peacekeepers serving under the United Nations Operations in Ivory Coast (UNOCI) have contributed US$2200, approximately Rwf1.5 million to the Rwanda National Police Handball club.

The contingent commander, Chief Supt. Gerald Ntare said the money is an appreciation for the club’s performance this season and to support them in preparations for future tournaments.

Police won an unprecedented four trophies this season which included a third league title, Labour Day, Memorial and Liberation cups.

Police Spokesperson, ACP Damas Gatare praised the Peacekeepers for the financial contribution and called on the Hand ball team to continue their form next season.

"They have performed very well this season and they had to be appreciated in that manner and they deserve it. The players should continue such performances next season,” Gatare said adding that it is a common practice for the national police to contribute to such causes.
