With the soaring levels of unemployment, students have always been advised to create jobs rather than look for them. In light of that counsel, some students have taken heed and written creative business projects which have attracted a lot of attention from many stakeholders.

During a competition organised by Generation Rwanda, a non-governmental organization, at Kepler Institute in Kimironko, Joseph Rubagumya, Michel Ndayishimye and Habimana Jean de Dieu came up with a project called "Smart Business Idea” which focuses on developing small scale enterprises and furnishing business people with taxation requirements and business sustainability and growth. And all this will be at an affordable fee.

According to these students’ research, about 8,000 micro enterprises within Kigali city face tax and expansion challenges and would therefore need this service. During their presentation, the trio said they plan to reinvest every coin in their project in order to reach as many business people as possible.

Fortunately for them, the NGO plans to give this innovative team of students extra training in business management as part of the prize package for the winners of the competition.
