Kigali Cricket Club staged an outstanding performance as they beat Victory Cricket Club in the on-going UA Exchange & Xpress Money 50 Overs Premier League game on Saturday at Kicukiro Cricket Ground.

Of the 50 allotted overs, Victory cricket club played only 24 overs and managed 100 runs all out. Victory’s Adeel Asghal picked four wickets which included that of fellow batsmen Orchide Tuyisenge and Ed Pearson for single figures each, and conceded 21 runs in his 5 overs.

Kigali CC batsmen didn’t make any mistake while chasing the small score. It took only 3 batsmen to win the game in 13.3 overs namely; Kami Meera (27), Dhaval Shah (18 not out) and Zaki Hassan (31 not out).

"After winning the toss, we decided to field first. It is something we had never opted to do before, but the gamble worked for us,” said Zaki Hassan the Kigali CC captain.

"This was an under performance from my players,” said Victory club captain Andre Kayitera. He added that losing is okay but if the players lose after a big fight then you have motivation to carry you to the next game.

Both Telugu and Kigali cricket clubs have qualified for the semi final after amassing 8 and 4 points respectively in two matches played. Victory club are yet to register any win.

In Group B, Indorwa CC was the first team to qualify.

The second team will be determined by the winner of the next game between Right Guards and Kerala Hunters which will be played on Sunday October 26th at Kicukiro cricket ground.
