On Friday night Royale Villas was in full capacity with ecstatic revellers. Everyone, young, old, VIP and ordinary, got onto their feet, singing and dancing. Carnival Nite was worth every penny they paid.

Recorded music entertained the crowd until Kenya’s DJ Red a member of the Code DJ Stylez took over. His sense of music selection had the large crowd simply enchanted keeping them dancing and singing along with him.

The whole night was truly amazing, the maestro musicians sent the crowds cheering and screaming for more.

This was the first launch of Carnival Nite in Rwanda, following a prior introduction in May, at the Royale Villas hotel.

The new modern hotel is located on the top of Nyarutarama Hill, the prime luxury residential area, with a wonderful view of Kigali’s surrounding physical features.

It was an evening of full exhilaration, as folks squealed with delight dancing to their favourite music.

The party mood further enhanced by the smell of fresh air on the poolside augmented by the creative decoration of disco lights all added to the atmosphere of the night.

But this was no ordinary partying; it was one of the most memorable bashes ever held in Kigali, organised by the management of Royale Villas, in conjunction with 4Real Promotions.

As Uganda’s latest celebrated vocal, Michael Ross jumped onto the stage, singing his famous hit "Omwana yoyo”, many deserted their seats to hit the dance floor.

Clad in a black T-shirt and jeans, with a pair of designer shades, black dancing shoes, he let out a loud holler: "Rwanda, are you ready?”

The "yes” response was deafening.

He was immediate game for the ladies as he did a half monty revealing a well-built body, one could tell the guy spends good time in the gym.

"What a body!” a lady yelled.
Finally, at about 12:45pm, Radio and Weasel stepped onto the stage to claim their show, sending revellers into a frenzy.

Call them the current masters of Uganda’s hip-hop scene; you would not be far from the truth.

The breathtaking vocalists have no doubt kept Uganda’s entertainment scene busy since they released the smash hit, ‘Nakudata’.

The hits: "Nakudata” and their latest, "Zuena”, are dominating Rwanda’s airwaves in the radio stations, nightclubs and other hangout joints. The duo is the latest most celebrated Ugandan musicians after Jose Chameleon and his monster hit "Jamila.”

According to the members of the organising committee, who preferred to speak on the condition of anonymity, the main idea behind Carnival Nite was based on the emphasis of treating patrons to unforgettable partying.

This was clear from the onset. At the entrance, costumed beauties offered complimentary cocktail drinks to arriving guests.

All roads led to the venue jammed with cars of all brands. Boys and girls dressed to kill. No wonder, one could easily confuse the Carnival Nite launch into a fashion contest show.

Probably it would be correct to say the dress code of the night was understood right: "Dress to hunt or to be hunted!”

At Royale Villas, all you could witness was joy and beauty, laughter, drinking, eating. The variety of food was impressive, made even more special by the wild game meat, but of course fish and chicken were also available.

The bar was stocked with premium drinks ready to quench the thirst of the busy revellers.

Normally just by belly dancing it is easy to nock some people out of their senses. No doubt, it was a Carnival Night and in the last mad moments of this evening; a fine guy sat gazing wide-eyed at me, requesting me to be his partner.

It dawned upon me that I did not plan to be attached to any person but rather be free and independent.

"Wonders will never seize to happen,” so goes a popular saying. An irritating moment was when this guy abandoned his chic dived into the swimming pool in his full clothes, leaving his sweet-heart crying for his rescue from the water.

Hotel manager Ferdy Turasenga, said the aim of the launch was to provide space for people to meet and get together in a friendly healthy social environment.
