She-Amavubi head coach Grace Nyinawumuntu has expressed her disappointment about what she described as deliberate ploy by Ferwafa to ignore players who got injured while on national duty.

Rwanda lost to Nigeria’s Falcons during the African Women Championships qualifiers in June. The seven injured players include; Anne Marie Ibangarye, Shadia Uwamahirwe, Judith Kalimba,

Alice Ingabire, Sophie Niyomugaba, Alice Niyoyita and Florence Imanizabayo.

Most of these players sustained injuries during a friendly game that was played against Zambia in May, but Nyinawumuntu says little has been done to support them.

"We have talked about this issue and even sent them for medical checkup in King Faisal Hospital, but they did not get any treatment because Ferwafa said they had no money, and while the team doctor has continued to follow up the issue, the situation is still the same,” Nyinawumuntu told Sunday Sport.

She added: "Players from AS Kigali are getting basic treatment but that is not enough. The club is taking care of the bills but the players sustained the injuries with the national team. I doubt if other teams can do the same.”

Reacting to Nyinawumuntu’s concern, Ferwafa president Vincent Nzamwita said: "Ferwafa will make sure that all the seven players receive treatment given that they were serving the country. We have a partnership with Algeria to have our injured players treated in Algeria.”

Two months ago, during their General Assembly, Ferwafa decided that the women national teams at all levels will not participate in the 2015 FIFA/CAF competitions.
