APR's Fulla Nganga switches to Bangui SC ahead of BAL qualifiers

APR Basketball Club's shooting guard Fulla Nganga has switched to Bangui Sporting Club, a Central African Republic outfit, ahead of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) qualifiers.

The 30-year-old Congolese who has been a key player for APR is joining Bangui for the second time, having played for them in 2022 during the qualifiers of the BAL qualifiers.

Nganga previously featured for various clubs in his native DR Congo, including ASB Soyo de Matadi, Ravens and Mazembe.

In October 2021, he was on the roster of Espoir Fukash during the 2022 BAL qualifiers. He scored 29 points in the decisive game against AS Police to help the team qualify for the 2022 BAL season.

The teams that competed in the previous BAL edition will automatically qualify for the Second Round Elite 16 if they earn the right to represent their respective countries in the qualifiers.

Five cities will host the First Round of the Road to BAL qualifiers while the decisive Elite 16 round will take place in two cities.

The Road to BAL comprises East and West Divisions, with teams split into five groups.

The campaign will start off with Group E matches that will take place in Antananarivo, Madagascar from October 3-8.

It will then move to Groups A and B whose matches will simultaneously be held in Benghazi, Libya and Yaoundé, Cameroon, from October 6-10.
