Gatete to address World Bank summit in Washington

Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Claver Gatete is expected to address the World Bank annual summit in Washington DC this afternoon. His 3pm speech will focus on the challenges Rwanda faces in sharing economic growth more broadly.

The summit will focus on Africa under the theme "Sharing Economic Growth Broadly” and Gatete will feature alongside renown leaders such as Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Nigerian minister of finance, Ravi Kanbur, Professor of world affairs at Cornell University and Danny Leipziger a former Vice President of World Bank.

The event will focus on avenues which policymakers in Africa pursue to increase benefits of economic growth.

Participants will also seek solutions to unemployment, rapid urbanization and untapped natural wealth among other challenges.
