The Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF) youth in Kirehe District have committed to do more to contribute to nation building.

This was part of the resolutions at a day-long RPF youth conference held on Monday.

Jean Pierre Gasirabo, the youth representative in the district, said they were committed to nation building.

He said the youth are coming up with initiatives that will contribute to wealth creation in the communities, adding that stimulating economic activity in the local communities was a priority.

"RPF youth are committed to the country’s development agenda,” he said.

Addressing hundreds of youth at the conference, Kirehe District RPF chairperson Protais Murayire, said youth development should focus on education as well as job creation.

Murayire said RPF’s goal is to enable young people realise their full potential and contribute toward national development.

"The party’s vision is to engage youth in nation building. We have to harness the energy, skills and resources of young people through active engagement,” Murayire said.

"It is good the youth are ready to take advantage of the available opportunities. The environment is suitable for them to create their own jobs,” he said.

Justine Mukobwa, RPF Commissioner, who presided over the function, reiterated the role of the youth in the country’s economic growth.

"The forum is important. We are all duty bound to support you. You are, however, supposed to be disciplined and focused to support government policies. With your support, we shall take this country to greater heights,” she told the cheering youths.
