Reality television show addicts will be glued to their screens on Sunday evening as the continent’s biggest reality show kicks off in South Africa.

Big Brother Africa brings contestants from selected countries to live together in an isolated house while trying to avoid being evicted by viewers and ultimately winning the grand prize of $300,000. And for season 9, Rwanda has been included for the first time although its participation came with sweat.

Days leading to the official opening of the show, Rwanda was dropped because of what officials termed as "logistical constraints”.

However with the show being postponed due an unfortunate firewhich gutted the BBA house, organisers had more time to sort out the problem and ultimately; actor, model and musician Frankie Joe together with comedian and radio presenter Arthur Nkusi, were selected to represent Rwanda after successfully going through auditions.

This week, The New Times’ Dean Karemera introduces all the 26 contestants.
