Byumvuhore said that the money will come from their main sponsors, Nyarugenge District, as well as other sources including well-wishers and prominent former players like Ashraf Kadubiri, Michel Kamanzi, Désiré Mbonabucya and Valens Muvara, among others.

Last season, under Gilbert Yaoundé Kanyankore, Kiyovu finished in fifth position with 41 points.

"The budget is not big enough for a club like Kiyovu but we shall find other means as the season goes on because Kiyovu has ardent supporters who will always put in their personal contributions, so we hope everything will go as planned,” Byumvuhore told Times Sports in a phone interview.

SC Kiyovu will host Marines at Mumena in their opening match of the league season on Sunday, October 19, before facing Police FC on Wednesday, October 22, at Kicukiro ground.
