U-23 men V-ball team line up four warm-up games

Rwanda Volleyball Federation (FRVB) has secured four friendly games for the U23 men’s national team in preparation for this year’s African Championships scheduled for November 5-13 in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt.

According to the head trainer Paul Bitok, the team will play against Kenyan sides GSU, Prisons and Cooperative Bank as well as Egypt U23 team. The African Championships will serve as qualifier for the U23 World Championships.

FRVB will release the names of the selected players on Thursday (today) and not on Friday as was reported earlier. The team will start non residential training on October 6 until 11 before entering residential training camp on October 12. The final 12-player team will be named on October 28.

The team will then travel to Nairobi on October 30 for the warm-up games with Prisons, GSU and Cooperative Bank before flying to Cairo for the final warm-up match against Egypt on November 3.

The two finalists will represent Africa in the FIVB Men’s U23 World Championships 2015, which will be hosted by Brazil from October 6-13.
