Nachos is a Mexican dish made of tortilla or nacho chips covered with cheese or cheese-based sauce.

According to Mebs Kara, the general manager at Accord Hotel, OC Pizza Bar and Grill, Nachos is one of the best meals to be served as a starter.

"It is quick to prepare and can be made with chicken or taco beef but can also be made without meat for vegetarians,” he says.

What you’ll need

Tortillas chips or nacho chips (corn flour) salsaA few sliced spring onions, tomatoes, green pepper and spicesA good chunk of cheeseSoured cream or guacamole

•Lay tortilla or nacho chips on to a baking tray, pour pico-de-gallo over them and scatter cheese on top.

•Add a pinch of crushed chilli flakes, then put in the oven for about three minutes to melt the cheese.

• Serve with guacamole. "Pico-de-gallo is a sauce made from green pepper, tomatoes, onions and spices,” Mebs says.

The cost of the meal at Accord Hotel is Rwf3900 or Rwf5400 for beef or chicken.
