The Social Good Summit 2014 that was held between 21st and 22nd in Rwanda came to an end yesterday with a call on key stakeholders in ICTs, other technologies and innovations to think and do more in creating applications that benefit not only the city dwellers but residents in rural areas as well, to equally make lives of all easier, creating jobs, access information and harvest from nature with utmost efficiency.

The UNFPA Country Representative, Josef Maerien, during his presentation, noted that technology is changing communities’ values and way of thinking which innovators should get in tandem with to create a dynamic equilibrium between innovations and people’s changing ideals. He noted that the youth should, especially, be encouraged to use new technologies for improving their lives through information sharing over such issues as disease control, overcoming certain difficult situations and sharing development and entrepreneurial skills.
