There was a decrease in the local bourse turnover yesterday compared to last Monday with only the Bralirwa counter active, the day’s market report indicates.

According to the report, the brewer traded 8,900 shares in four deals yesterday, raking in Rwf3.96 million in turnover. This was a decline in volumes and value, from 22, 600 Bralirwa and 192,800 Bank of Kigali shares worth Rwf60.3 million sold the previous Monday.

The Rwanda Stock Exchange Share Index dropped 0.52 points to close at 254.92 yesterday compared to 254.4 points last week (Monday).

The drop was mainly caused by the continued decline in Bralirwa’s share price, which closed at Rwf443 yesterday from Rwf445 the previous Monday.

Bank of Kigali share price was at Rwf280 yesterday, up from Rwf275 a share last week.

Kenya Commercial Bank, Nation Media Group and Uchumi Supermarkets shares last transacted at Rwf185, Rwf1,200 and Rwf104, respectively.
