The World class married couple will work with the global organisation that helps children through sport as well as Rwanda Athletics Federation to inspire upcoming children and coaches.

The Rwanda Athletics Federation Technical Director Jean Pierre Ndacyayisenga confirmed the development on Tuesday.

He said the couple will among other things attend a Kid’s Athletics event scheduled for September 20.

The Eaton family will meet and network with Rwandan coaches as well as share with them ideas and experiences regarding their careers.

"They will also spend time with children during the Kids athletics programme where the pair will do a relay of 100 meters together, running on hurdles and throwing Javelin,” added Ndacyayisenga.

Rwanda Athletics Federation and Right to Play are the sponsors of the visit.

The couple who have been busy with their athletics schedule might spend more time in Rwanda to finally have their honeymoon which they have not had since they got married more than a year ago.

Brianne Theisen-Eaton is a Canadian track and field athlete who competes in the heptathlon and women's pentathlon. She holds the Canadian record for the indoor pentathlon.

She is a heptathlon silver medalist from the 2013 World Championships, and a pentathlon silver medalist from the 2014 World Indoor Championships. She is the first and only Canadian woman to podium in the multi-events at the World Championships.

Her husband, Ashton James is an American decathlete and Olympic champion, who holds the world record in both the decathlon and heptathlon events, and is only the second decathlete (after Roman Sebrle) to break the 9,000-point barrier, with 9,039 points.

In 2012, Eaton broke his own world record in the heptathlon at the World Indoor Championships, and then went on to break the world record in the decathlon at the Olympic Trials. After setting the world record, Eaton easily won the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
