Qatar Airways has lauded Rwanda’s community service initiative, Umuganda, saying it plays a big part in the revitalisation of the country.

This was revealed as the airline’s staff participated in monthly Umuganda activities in Rugunga, Kiyovu in Nyarugenge District where they cleaned a street and the surrounding areas "to support the government objective of maintaining a healthy environment in Rwanda”.

Aimee Muziranenge, the Qatar Airways marketing boss, who led the 20 staff of the airline’s Rwanda office in the day-long activity, said their participation was to show the airline’s commitment in supporting community initiatives.
