Big Brother Africa is back. There’s a funky new house and 12 new housemates living in it. Given what one can probably call a success story, it is understandable that millions of viewers across Africa have been waiting with bated breath for Big Brother Africa 3 billed to kick off this Sunday August 24th.

There were high prospects of Season 3 being aired in African countries and beyond , and of course here in  Rwanda.

It was an instant hit that got millions of viewers punching the air in ecstatic as they watched the live show series. By the time KB announced it, all the housemates of BBA had already adopted household names across the continent.

After last year’s BBA 2, which in my opinion was the best season of Big Brother ever, there are higher hopes for Big Brother 3.

After last night’s show I was slightly reassured. And I have already started noticing really excited housemates. This year’s BB is comprised of an equal gender distribution with participants from 12 countries across Africa.

Malawi’s sassy girl, Hazel, 25, is enterprising by nature, this PA also runs a bridal business and entered Big Brother Africa to experience something different.

Tanzania’s Latoya, seems to be in particular hot demand in the house. The bubbly 21-year-old secretary loves to dance. A lover of fun, her fondest memory is the time she spent with her first love.

And Zimbabwean hunk, Munya is passionate about acting, film and television. The 22-year-old aspires to launch a production company.

Lucille is representing Namibia, the 21-year-old beauty has promised her audience laughter and tears. This qualified travel and tourism student has her sights set on a trip to Europe.

Uganda’s Morris rose from being an unknown tourism student to become a well-known adventurous, jack of many trades. If there is one place this versatile dude could go to in the whole world he would head for Hollywood!

Then, there is also the princess from Ghana Mimi. She is a personal assistant to a CEO, this extrovert promises to cause confusion by being "partly myself and partly not”.

And others are: Ricco from Angola, Sheila (Kenya), Takondwa (Zambia), Tawana (Botswana), Thami (South Africa), and Uti from Nigeria.
