Yves Rwasamanzi has resigned as Isonga Football Club head coach with immediate effect less than two weeks before the new season starts.

According to the secretary general of new promoted club Sandra Muhimpundu, assistant coach Innocent Seninga will be in charge of the team until a new head coach is named.

"We are still looking for a head coach but for now the assistant coach is temporarily conducting training sessions as we can’t start the recruitments process without the green light from the Ministry,” Muhimpundu said.

Isonga FC was founded three years ago as a composition of players, who played in the 2011 U-17 African Youth Championship and the Fifa World Cup. The team is financed by the ministry of Sports and Culture.

After the World Cup in Mexico, the team was promoted to the U-20 level and registered to play in the national league without going through the Second Division.

It finished in sixth position in its debut season in the 2011/12 season under Eric Nshimiyimana. However it failed to maintain that impressive form the following season, which saw it relegated to the second-tier but made a comeback to the First Division.
