All is not well at KFM

The Kigali City Tower based KFM is said to be on the verge of falling to its knees following the departure of the station’s best presenters.

In February, Cynthia Umurungi aka Ginty left to join Magic FM as a programmes manager which caused a crisis and management had to change programmes to cover the gap she left behind. As if that was not enough, Sandrine Isheja Butera who replaced Ginty on the morning show also left to join newly established Kiss FM which created an even bigger gap.

Our snoops have since established that news anchor and talk show host Ange Soubirous Tambineza might also leave as well as Mc Tino who has been a co-presenter on the morning show. With the exodus of the station’s top presenters, it is left to be seen if the station will stand the test of time.

Traditional music singer Jules Sentore is not happy with some of the recently concluded Primus Guma Guma Super Star (PGGSS) 4 contenders who allegedly bribed fans to boo other musicians while they were performing at the finale.

According to our snoops, Jules who came in seventh place says it all started when hip-hop artistes locked horns and took their fight to the fans.

This culminated into bribing of fans by some artistes to boo fellow artistes while performing on stage.

Our snoops further tell us that the hip-hop rivalry is likely to continue even though the PGGSS 4 competition is over.

Rapper Danny Nanone’s surprise birthday last weekend took a sour turn when one of his friends poured alcohol on him yet he doesn’t drink because of his Islamic faith.

Danny expressed his disappointment which immediately spoilt the mood.

According to our snoops who attended the party, Danny’s friend, Fils Leon, who poured alcohol on him apologised saying that he didn’t intend to upset him but was rather taken up by the party mood and made a mistake.

The party managed to go on but the mood was already low.

Danny is a talented rapper who has worked with several musicians and was recently signed to Incredible Records together with Young Grace.

Fearless and Young Grace in a war of words

It was only a matter of time before these two female rappers engaged in a war of words over who the queen of hip-hop in the country is.

Rapper Fearless who is known for her provocative words and actions in her songs and videos didn’t take it lightly when in mid July, rapper Young Grace declared herself as the queen of hip-hop music during a radio talk show.

"I’m the queen of hip-hop and no other female artiste can be compared to me. Look at the so-called rapper Fearless, she is better off as a video vixen than a rapper,” she said.

According to our sources, Fearless kept her cool until recently when Young Grace was back at KT radio and she called in to the station very furious to assure her. "Being a queen of hip-hop comes from actions not words, so Young Grace is just building castles in the air and she can never develop musically with such a shallow mind,” Fearless hit back.

Not only that, Fearless has gone ahead to record a song about Young Grace; telling her that she is nothing compared to her. Young Grace is yet to respond but the battle seems like its just beginning.
