Police FC first choice goalkeeper Emery Mvuyekure is expected to start training in two weeks after a stint out of action due to an injury.

The 24-year-old Rwanda international injured his index finger on August 11 during Police’s Cecafa Kagame Cup group match against Burundi’s Vital’O, a match that the law enforcers won by 3-1.

He missed the rest of the tournament in which his debutant team went on to finish third behind winners El Merreikh of Sudan, who beat APR FC 1-0 in the final. Police defeated KCCA of Uganda 4-2 on post-match penalty kicks following a 1-all draw in regular time.

Mvuyekure said: "I feel bad because of this injury which denied me a chance to contribute to my team’s achievement in our first appearance in the tournament.”

"But I am making good recovery, faster than I thought. I hope in two weeks I will start light training,” added the former AS Kigali goalie.
