Airtel donates tools to Remera residents

Airtel Rwanda has donated an assortment of cleaning tools, including hoes, shovels, slashers and rakes to Kagara village in Nyabisindu cell, Remera Sector to be used during community projects like Umuganda.

Airtel Rwanda has donated an assortment of cleaning tools, including hoes, shovels, slashers and rakes to Kagara village in Nyabisindu cell, Remera Sector to be used during community projects like Umuganda. 

The donation was handed over to village leaders by Airtel Rwanda managing director Teddy Bhullar after Umuganda activities on Saturday.  

Umuganda is a mandatory community service carried out every last Saturday of the month to enhance community involvement and strengthen national development programmes.

Bhullar pledged Airtel’s continued support to Umuganda activities so as to contribute to an environmentally clean country, strengthen the firm’s community engagement, as well as support the country’s development programmes.

The telecom firm also pledged 200 chairs and a public address system to Nyabisindu cell to facilitate future community meetings and events. 

Florence Ntakontagize, the Nyabisindu cell leader, thanked Airtel for the gesture and donation to the community.
