Editor,

Ferwafa is only exposing their amateurism and lack of seriousness. Please consider the following:

1. The football federation knew that Etakiama alias Birori played for Vita Club using different names from the ones registered with Ferwafa and Rwandan Directorate of Migration. They however went ahead and summoned him to Amavubi.

2. Ferwafa is well aware that the player was born Congolese and only came to Rwanda as an adult footballer and, therefore, merely playing for Amavubi cannot change his ancestry.

3. Ferwafa has made it a habit to force our passports onto every Birori, Mbuyu, Manamana et al at every opportunity instead of nurturing homemade talents.

4. The Ferwafa official (the secretary general) is finding an excuse in the 24-hour time consideration ignoring the real issue—the player’s citizenship.

Now Rwanda, Rwandan football lovers and Amavubi players are collectively victimised by the football administrators at Ferwafa. Like some said, Ferwafa should bury their head in sand other than give lame excuses.

Ferwafa, please stop wasting time and resources. The facts are clear and you should accept your shortcomings and move on. You knew the player had two identifications with different names and dates of birth; that in itself only shows that you deserve the ban.

If I were Caf and you appealed again, I would increase the ban duration.
