For those into gospel music, Christian Life Assembly is the place to be come Sunday, September 7. Burundian gospel singer Dudu Niyukuri will be performing there and, if the singer’s words are anything to go by, it is an event you don’t want to miss.

Niyukuri, who has performed in various countries, says the concert will be a stepping stone towards broadening his fan base in Rwanda, according to a post on his Facebook page.

Entry fee will be Rwf2000.

While in Kigali, he’s also expected to launch his 16-track debut album, Jubilee.

His song Yesu n’Umwami is one the most played songs on Burundian airwaves, having been on the top of the charts for about two months.

Born in 1981 in Bujumbura, Niyukuri, whose songs are in French and Kirundi, is a song writer, music producer, guitarist, saxophone player, sound engineer and director with T.D Live Production Studio. 

The 33-year-old was raised in a musical environment. His father was a pastor, guitarist and saxophone player, something that heavily influenced him.  

He started playing piano at the age of nine and picked up the guitar in his early teens.

Niyukuri released his first single Komamashi in 2007 and has already worked with well-known Rwandan gospel artistes like Gaby, Aline, Tonzi, Clark and David.
