KIGALI IS steadily becoming one of the most exciting cities to stay up at night in East Africa, if the growing number of clubs and nightspots are anything to go by.

Kaizan, located in Kabeza, a city suburb, is the latest addition to the ever-growing collection of nightclubs in town.  The fancy nightspot boasts comfortable lounges, complete with a well-stocked bar, barbecue area, coffee shop, and state-of-the-art music equipment that, according to the proprietor Emmanuel Nayabosha, is imported from Europe.

"The reason why Kaizan is special is because the management is made up of professionals; we take customer service seriously and will operate 24/7,” Nayabosha said on Friday night, as the nightclub opened its doors.

He added that the spot will have exciting theme nights throughout the week to end the monotony of simply hanging out.

A couple of drinks were served while Ugandan superstar Jose Chameleon and comedy group Amarula Family, as well as Kenyan songbird Amani made a brief appearance. Chameleon sang a few songs for the crowd which got everyone dancing.

"We have given jobs to 150 qualified and experienced employees. There was a need for this kind of place, especially in Kabeza, where people don’t hang out much and would rather go to other places. I look at this as a great solution,” Nayabosha said of the new club, which is located near the near market in Kabeza.

The club was launched on Saturday and entry fee was Rwf 5000 for the ordinary section and Rwf 10000 for the VIP Lounge. MC Tino and DJ Scooper from Uganda kept the crowd well entertained.
