Police yesterday recovered and handed back to owners electronics that had been stolen from households in different areas in the City of Kigali.

The electronics that included television screens, laptops, desktops among other appliances, were put on display at Kicukiro Police Station, where five suspects accused of masterminding the break-ins were also paraded before the media.

Speaking to journalists, one of the suspects (name withheld), said they normally break in people’s homes through windows.

The resident of Kagarama in Kicukiro District said he had broken into people’s homes three times.

Diogene Musonera, whose home appliances worth Rwf3 million were stolen earlier this week, received all his gadgets and thanked police for the swift operation.

The Police Spokesperson in Kigali, Supt. Modeste Mbabazi appreciated the residents in different neighbourhoods for sharing information that led not only to the arrest of suspects, but also recovery of the stolen property.
