The National Consultative Forum for Political Organisations (NFPO) yesterday elected two new members.

Francois Byabarumwanzi of the Liberal Party (PL) was elected the new spokesperson while Florence Mukobwajana from the Green Party was elected his deputy for a six-month mandate.

The elections were conducted during the forum’s general assembly in Kigali.

Speaking after the elections, Byabarumwanzi said he will work for the prosperity of the forum while Mukobwajana commented she will put the interests of all political parties in the country before her own party's interests.

Byabarumwanzi replaces Musa Fazil Harerimana, who has been the spokesperson of the forum.

Meanwhile, the meeting also endorsed a budget of Rwf526 million to implement the forum’s action plan 2014/15.

Annicet Kayigema, the executive secretary of the forum said they plan to among other things strengthen the capacity of political parties by training members about multiparty political dispensation.
