Local entrepreneurs should take lead in devt projects

Editor, This is good news but these plans should urgently be translated into action. I’m not being pessimistic but our previous partners (on methane gas extraction and subsequent power generation) promised us heaven on earth yet it all ended up as hot air.

Editor,

Reference is made to the story, "US firm to complete study on methane project in four months” (The New Times, August 12). This is good news but these plans should urgently be translated into action. I’m not being pessimistic but our previous partners (on methane gas extraction and subsequent power generation) promised us heaven on earth yet it all ended up as hot air.

We have seen good plans that have only remained on paper in the form of feasibility studies.

It is about time Rwandans actively sought and owned solutions of their own challenges instead of living in the past imaginations that things come on a silver platter.

It is time to work tirelessly to reach to a point where such investments will be made by Rwandans, say to provide the much needed energy that will power our development agenda.
