Rayon Sports are trying out Nigerian striker Yunana Yanawo with a view to sign him, according to head coach Jean Francois Losciuto.

"He is in the country for trials; we will assess him after the (Cecafa Kagame Cup 2014) tournament and see if he can fit in the team,” the Belgian told Times Sport on Tuesday.

He added: "He is on trials with us and, if he impresses, we will negotiate a contract and he signs for us.”

The striker could start training alongside the first team, which is competing in the ongoing Cecafa Kagame Cup, but he will not feature in the tournament.

Rayon Sports have already signed Togolese forward Sekle Zico Yao on a two-year contract, while another Togolese player, Guelli Koffi, is expected in the country on today for further talks.

Losciuto said there are other players who will come for trials after the Cecafa championships as the team continues to prepare for the next season, due to start next month.

The Blues are looking for a replacement of Burundi striker Cedric Amissi, who joined Mozambique’s Chibuto FC in May, Rwanda international Djamar Mwiseneza, who completed APR switch last week, and Meddie Kagere, who joined Albania’s top division side KF Tirana.

Rayon Sports will meet KMKM from Zanzibar in their third Group A game on Thursday looking to join Police FC in the last eight. The Nyanza-based side drew with Azam 0-0 in first game and the won second game against Atlabara 2-1.
