Rwanda Handball Federation has named Antoine Ntabanganyimana as the new head coach of the national under-20 team.

He signed a one-year contract.

Ntabanganyimana also doubles as the coach of league side Police handball club.

At the national team, he will be assisted by Midard Mudaherishema, the head coach of ES Kigoma.

The appointment came shortly after the team entered camp in preparation for the Zone V U20 Challenge Trophy scheduled for August 15-22 in Kampala, Uganda.

The two coaches have great experience and knowledge of the game and command respect among the players, according to observers.

Ntabanganyimana has led Police to three trophies this season. Police are also leading the national handball league table.

"I have been working as a handball coach for some time now and am happy for the opportunity to coach the national team. I hope we will do well and win the Challenge Trophy in Kampala,” he said shortly after his unveiling.
