Editor,

REFER TO the story "Literacy: Rwandan students simply won’t find time to read in English” (Sunday Times, August 3)

First, I would like to thank The New Times for this article and for the lively and educative piece of news which is characterised with literal words.

Back to the content, being one of the education stakeholders in the country, I also back the Young Literacy Organisation that most of our beloved learners at various levels haven’t mastered English, prior to speaking, writing and reading cultures.

This is therefore a call to all our dear teachers of English and literature to be organising operational clubs of "Readers and Writers”, "Poetry and Prose”, "Debate and Quiz”, talk shows, among others, to boost the English culture in their respective schools.
