Five Rwandan teams vie for KAVC memorial title

FIVE TEAMS from Rwanda have confirmed their participation in NSSF – Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) international tournament set for August 9– 10 in Kampala, Uganda.

According to the Secretary General of the Rwanda Volleyball Federation, Christian Hatumimana, the defending champions Inatek, Kigali Volleyball Club, APR, Rayon Sports (men) and Rwanda Revenue Authority (women) will represent Rwanda.

This is the 18th edition of the annual tournament. It has also attracted  Burundi’s Rukinzo and Muzinga, Kenya’s Prisons, Administration Police and GSU as foreign participants.

Apart from Rayon Sport, women sides Vision Volleyball Camp (VVC) and Espoir will also be two new teams from the local scene out of the invited 17 clubs.

Last Year Nkumba University won the women’s title  on their first time of asking.

Ugandan teams expected to grace the two-day event include Sport-S, KCCA, Nemostars, Gulu, Old Kampala, Cobap, Sky, KAVC-A, KAVC-B (men) as well as KCCA, Sport-S, Ndejje Elites, Nkumba University, KAVC-A, KAVC-B, VVC, Espoir (women).
