JUNIOR WASPS face Uganda Cubs seeking to overturn the 4-0 deficit if they are to qualify to the final round of the Caf African Youth Championships qualifiers.

The return leg game will be played at Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu District this afternoon starting at 3pm.

It’s an uphill task for the hosts who need to over turn tables and atleast score over 4 goals.

"We have been training well since last Friday. The players have responded very well in training. The atmosphere in camp has been very fantastic; everyone is focused on the game,” head coach Lee Johnson said.

Johnson noted that to overturn a 4-0 deficit is a big challenge.

"But football is very unpredictable. No one expected Germany to beat Brazil 7-0, so anything can happen,” Johnson said.

He advised players to be positive and play football that will deliver victory.

His counterpart of the Uganda Cubs, Coach Mathias Lule said he cannot rule out the fatigue factor on part of his team but added that "apart from that, the boys are fully focused on the task ahead.”

Whoever progresses from this tie will qualify to the next round to face Zambia.

The African Youth Championships finals will take place in Niger next year in March/April and the top four teams will qualify for the Fifa Under-17 World Cup in Chile next year.
