AMAVUBI STARS have been dealt a major setback ahead of the return leg of the Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Congo Brazzaville due on Saturday in Kigali.

Professionals including strikers Elias Uzamukunda and Dady Birori as well as defender Salomon Nirisarike have all failed to report to Amavubi camp despite the federation sending them invitations and air tickets.

"We processed all the needed documents requesting the three players and even sent air tickets following their confirmations.

But up to now, they are not responding to our calls,” the Amavubi team manager Alfred Ngarambe said during a news conference on Wednesday.

The trio was expected in Kigali latest Wednesday.

Without the trio Meddie Kagere might start alongside Michel Ndahinduka on the striking line, while Ismail Nshutiyamagara and Emery Bayisenge will maintain their spots in heart of defence.

Congo, who have a 2-0 goal cushion from the first leg, arrived in the country last night and have been booked at Alpha Palace hotel.
