Police hire Maso as assistant coach

Turbo King National Football league side Police FC have hired Maurice Nshimiyimana, Alias Maso, as assistant to head coach Andre Cassa Mbungo. Nshimiyimana joins this year's Peace Cup finalists two months he was sacked by Musanze FC where he was also assistant coach to Hussain Barack, who was also shown the exit door along with team captain Omar Hitimana, all on allegations that they were involved in match-fixing.

Turbo King National Football league side Police FC have hired Maurice Nshimiyimana, Alias Maso, as assistant to head coach Andre Cassa Mbungo. Nshimiyimana joins this year’s Peace Cup finalists two months he was sacked by Musanze FC where he was also assistant coach to Hussain Barack, who was also shown the exit door along with team captain Omar Hitimana, all on allegations that they were involved in match-fixing. 

Maso joins Police FC at a time when the law enforcers are preparing to make their maiden appearance in the Cecafa Kagame Club Championships. This year’s Cecafa Kagame Cup is scheduled to run from August 8 to 24 in Kigali.

 "I’m happy for the fact that Police FC have trusted me after what happened at Musanze FC, I am looking forward to working with Cassa Mbungo,” Maso told this paper in a telephone interview on Saturday.

Police FC are drawn in Pool C alongside defending champions Vital’O of Burundi, El Merreihk of Sudan and Benadeir of Somalia. 

Nshimiyimana replaces Djabil Mutarambirwa, who was sacked following the resignation of head coach Sam Ssimbwa two weeks ago.
