AS KIGALI Women Football Club academy Under-15 team is keen to win the ongoing Airtel Rising Stars championships title. The competition has reached the quarterfinal stage.

The team, coached by national team coach Grace Nyinawumuntu boosted their chances of winning the title after finishing top of the City of Kigali preliminary round competition.

However, Nyinawumuntu expressed frustration at the fact that her team is U-15 while their opponents are U-17, but says she will prepare her girls to be more technical rather than physical.

"I’m confident my team can go all the way to the title. Unfortunately, all but two of my players are all under-15, which makes it a little bit harder because of unbalanced physical strength but I believe we can overcome the hurdle” Nyinawumuntu told Times Sport on Wednesday.

The quarterfinals of the girls’ category of the Airtel Rwanda-sponsored youth competition are set for Sunday and draws of how teams will meet are set for the same day before matches kick-off.
