Inatek, APR battle for league title

NGOMA-DISTRICT based Inatek Volleyball Club and APR are favourites to win the 2014 league title following their clean sheet record over the weekend.

Inatek and APR have 21 points each after winning their weekend matches. 

Inatek beat Umubano Blue Tigers 3-1 sets to earn the three points of the day while APR Volleyball Club thrashed both Petit Seminaire Virgo Fidelis (Karubanda) and College of Education 3-0 sets each to collect six points closing the gap to tie at the top of the league summit. 

Though both teams are leading the pack at the top of the league table, APR has so far played seven matches while Inatek has played eight matches. 

KVC and Rayon Sports lie in third position with 15 points each, closely followed by Umubano Blue Tigers and Lycee de Nyanza with 14 points each. 

The first four teams in this league will proceed to playoffs to determine the winner of the 2014 championship. 

Ngororero and National University of Rwanda club (Huye Branch) are bottom-ranked since both teams have never won a single point since the start of the return leg matches. 

However, Huye district- based National University of Rwanda Volleyball team remains the defending champion.
