BELGIAN JEAN FRANÇOIS Losciuto has started his duties as Rayon Sports head coach with two weeks left for the club to take part in the Cecafa Kagame Cup championship slated for August 8-24 in Kigali.

The Belgian-born coach arrived in the country on Saturday to embark on his job, which he secured four weeks ago.

Losciuto replaces compatriot Luc Eymael who joined Jeunesse Sportive Kairouan of Tunisian topflight league after Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa) slapped him with a two-year ban for improper conduct in last season’s goalless draw between Rayon Sports and AS Kigali.

At Kigali International Airport, Losciuto was welcomed by hundreds of Rayon Sports fans.

"I’m very happy for this warm welcome by fans. I hope the same support continues during my days with Rayon Sports. I also heard APR FC are the major archrivals, I will do whatever is possible to reign over them and together as a team we will achieve our target,” he said.

Former Togolese premier league side Anges FC de Notsé technician, Losciuto steps-in at the blues’ hot sit almost two weeks ahead of this year’s Cecafa Kagame Cup.

Rayon Sport, 2013 league title winners are placed in Pool A alongside five-time winners Yanga of Tanzania, Coffee FC from Ethiopia, Atlabara from South Sudan and Zanzibar's KMKM.

Rayon has already started preparations ahead of the tournament. They started training last month in Nyanza District under the tutelage of Thierry Hitimana.

The Blues will face a striking hardships after two of their lethal goal scoring machines, Meddie Kagere and Cedric Amissi left the seven-time champions for bigger offers from FC Tirana of Albania and FC Chibuto from Mozambique respectively.
