AMAVUBI central defender Salomon Nirisarike has sealed a one-year contract with Belgian second division side Sint-Truidin (Saint-Trond) FC from rivals side Royal Antwerp.

The 21-year old defender Nirisarike spent the last two seasons at division two archrivals Royal Antwerp, the team that he joined in 2012 from local youthful side Isonga FC.

Former SEC Academy beneficiary, Nirisarike is the third Rwandan to feature for Sint-Truidin after former Amavubi stars captain Desire Mbonabucya and former defender Claude Kalisa played for the club in early 2000.

The soft spoken full-back Nirisarike is expected to join Amavubi stars team mid-this week ahead of their departure to Congo Brazzaville who they face in Saturday’s 2015 African Cup of Nations’ first-leg qualifier clash due in Pointe-Noir.

The right-footed defender made 44 appearances for Royal Antwerp, scoring three goals.
